In Geeta, Arjun says --
(11.39)

वायुः यमः अग्निः वरुणः शशाङ्कः (चन्द्रमा) are all well known.

प्रजापतिः can mean either ब्रह्मा (which is more probable), or any one of 14 prajapatis starting from दक्षः .

Now, who is प्रपितामहः, the father of पितामहः ?

regards,

Namaste,
I just checked the commentary by Shankaracharya given in Gita supersite.
Following is the explanation given.

While, to my knowledge, the commentators have not highlighted it, the meaning of प्रपितामह, based on the frequency of usage within the Mahabharata and other potentially contemporaneous texts such as the Valmiki Ramayana, is likely Brahma. In such a case, प्रजापति has to be equated with one (or all) of the several Prajapatis. This alternative interpretation is also preferrable due to two other reasons: (1) In BG 11.39, Sri Krishna is identified with other Vedic deities. It is already established that he is Vishnu and (2) To my knowledge, the story of Brahma springing from the navel-lotus of Vishnu is not present in the critical edition of the Mahabharata. It appears in the Vishnu Purana. This is also my interpretation of the name प्रपितामह in the Vishnu-Sahasranama.

Ramanuja's commentary too gives the same meaning:

Sanskrit Commentary By Sri Ramanuja
