Irrespective of diverse opinions, positive and negative, this is definitely Hindu Rashtra Symbolism. More precisely Sanatana Dharma Symbolism.
Senkol as Rāja Daṇḍa in Mahābhārata Śānti Parva, Adhyāya 15:-
These are Arjuna's words to king Yudhisthira:-
The rod (Rāja Daṇḍa) punishes all subjects. It also protects them. When everything is asleep, the rod is awake. The rod is Dharma. The rod protects Dharma, Artha and Kāma.
The rod protect Grain and Wealth. This is the natural way of the world. Some evil ones do not perform wicked deeds because of their fear for the king’ s rod (Rāja Daṇḍa) , others because of their fear for Yama’ s rod (Yama Daṇḍa) and others because of their fear of Para Loka. There are other evil ones who do not perform wicked deeds because of their fear for each other. In this world, everything is based on the rod.
दण्डेन रक्ष्यते धान्यं धनं दण्डेन रक्ष्यते
एतद् विद्वन्न् उपादत्स्व स्वभावं पश्य लौकिकम्
राजदण्डभयाद् एके पापाः पापं न कुर्वते
यमदण्डभयाद् एके परलोकभयाद् अपि
परस्परभयाद् एके पापाः पापं न कुर्वते
एवं सांसिद्धिके लोके सर्वं दण्डे प्रतिष्ठितम्
It is because of their fear of the rod that some do not eat each other. Had the rod not protected, they would have been submerged in blind darkness. It controls those who are not disciplined. It punishes those who are wicked. It is because it controls and punishes, it is Daṇḍa.
It is the rod of chastisement. It is the rod of Dharma. It symbolizes Dharma, Yama Vaivasvata (Dharma), Indra and Varuṇa. It represent kingship, rulership and Dharmic law.
Some may consider it as a mere optics, and others as the beginning of a real change. Let us agree to disagree.
