Could anybody please give me the full four line shloka of "Kaalohi ayam Niravadhih vipulaa ca Prithvee" in Devanagari script and its source. Thanks. N.R.Joshi

     Here is the verse you are asking about:

ये नाम केचिदिह न: प्रथयन्त्यवज्ञां 

जानन्तु ते किमपि तान्प्रति नैष यत्नः |. 

उत्पत्स्यतेऽस्ति मम कोऽपि समानधर्मा 

कालो ह्ययं निरवधिर्विपुला च पृथ्वी || 

It is found in Bhavabhūti's Mālatīmādhava.  It is also found at the beginning of Bhaṭṭa Umbeka's commentary on Kumārilabhaṭṭa's Ślokavārttika.

I may be mistaken, but I vaguely remember the third quarter as utpatsyate hi mama ko ’pi sam¡nadharm¡/ as published in the edition by Saradaranjan Ray

I wonder how the adverse criticism of Bhavabh£ti, as to be inferred from ye n¡ma ke cid etc was published! There was no press. Nor could sales take place to have an indicator as a determinant.The first performance at the King’s theatre must have been observed by critics. But their number could only be limited while the report bh¡san¡¶akacakre ’pi chekaiÅ kÀipte par¢kÀitum svapnav¡savadattasya d¡hako ’bh£n na p¡vakaÅ// seems to indicate mass public criticism and a widely accepted living theatrical tradition without any stereotype.

I may be pardoned for my inability to suppress my desire to share a similar, but totally irrelevant Sloka. I do not know the source. My teacher recited it one day and I had the knack for mugging up such slokas.

"कस्त्वं भोः"" पथिकः"" कुतो"" नगरतो"" वार्ता नवा का श्रुता" ।"बाढं" "ब्रूहि" "युवा पयोदसमये भार्यां विना जीवति" । "सत्यं जीवति?""जीवतीति कथिता वार्ता मयापि श्रुता"। "विस्तीर्णा पृथिवी जनाश्च बहवः किम् तन्न संपद्यते" ॥

I might have filled up some gaps of memory by my mischievous creativity.
