Sankalpa - outside of Bharatha

My apologies if this question has been asked and answered before.

My question is about the देश-काल as we recite it in sankalpa for various संस्कार-s and कर्म-s. I understand well that the kala-nirnaya is independent of the location. I am trying to understand what is the correct call-out for the द्वीप, खण्ड, वर्षे, क्षेत्रे ...

From one of the articles I recall reading a while back, sources from the ब्रह्माण्ड पुराण etc, the definitions exist for the सप्त-द्वीप, सप्त-सागर, सप्त-नद्यः etc.

I have heard priests use क्रौञ्च द्वीअ, पुष्कर-द्वीप or just जम्बू-द्वीप समीपे for example.

What is the correct usage for the North-American continent? Can you please help?
