I think you mean this dialogue cited by Shankaracharya in the Brahmasutra Bhashya 3.2.17 -

The meaning is: Bashkali approached Badhva for Brahmavidya: He asked 'Please instruct me'. The latter remained silent. The aspirant persisted, for the second and the third time. The Acharya replied: I am replying indeed but you do not get it: The Atman is Quiescence.

The source of the passage is not known.

This does not exist in any surviving Shruti text. I suppose you are referring to the dialog cited in Shariraka Bhashya.

Yes. The reference to the source of that dialogue is not given in the bhashya or by the editors. We just see it is 'shrUyte'. What shruti is not known.

Thank You so much, Subrahmanian Ji. I apologize for the late response. I'm sorry for that. I have a question. Is it possible for the great Samkaracarya, who used some rare/unknown references for his work?

If I understand correctly what you ask, my reply is: It is possible that the source of this dialogue was well known to Vedantins of his times. So he didn't mention the source.

Both the Rishis mentioned in this non traceable Shruti passage are associated with Rigveda. The only non extant Rigvedic text quoted by Shankaracharya is Paingi Rahasya Brahmana (also in Shariraka Bhashya). It is possible that the passage is from this Rahasya Brahmana.
