Completing the verse, with a given last line.

सुहृन्मदीयो हृदि कालिदास:

शकुन्तला मूर्तिमती सखी मे ।

न मे क्षति: कापि, तदास्तु कामम्

मेघस्य मोघं वदनं विवर्षम् ।।

The great poet Kalidasa is my friend

He is in my heart

His heroine Shakuntala

My very real companion.

What do I have to lose?

By all means, let the clouds not rain.

Are filled with delight

Content in themselves,

If the Lord of Gokula is dancing in the woods of Vrinda

If the passionate Radha also reaches there,

सौदामनीमन्यगतां निरीक्ष्य

स्कन्धेऽस्य मालामपि पातयन्तीम् ।

Watching the Lightning go elsewhere

and drop her garland on someone else’s shoulder,

Overcome with sudden despair

The cloud couldn't rain anymore.

Completing the verse: “Alas, I absolutely hate the face of my beloved!”

किञ्चित् तत् पलितं शिरो वलिभिराक्रान्तं तदीयं वपु:

हस्ते वेपथुरस्ति कम्पनमपि व्यालोकि तत्पादयो: ।

सर्वं दैववशादिदं समभवत् सर्वं सहे तन्मुदा

किन्त्वस्य प्रतिवेशिनीं प्रति वृतं हा धिक् प्रियस्याननम् ।।

That head is slightly gray

The body has crinkles

The hand trembles

And the legs shake a little

All this happened due to fate

I can live with all of this

But when he looks at the neighbor

Alas, I absolutely hate the face of my beloved!

यातं मे सकलं वयो मनसि मे चिन्ता न काप्यस्ति भो:

क्षीणं मे विकलं वपुर्न गमने दूरं स्पृहा काचन ।

काङ्क्षे वित्तमहं न किञ्चिदधिकं क्रेयं न किञ्चिन्मया

बुद्धे मा विजहाहि मां प्रियतमे किं जीवितं त्वां विना ।।

My whole life has passed

Yet I have no worries

The withered body is now week

No desire to go too far

Have no desire for more wealth

There is nothing left to buy

O my darling Intellect!

Please don’t leave me

What would be life without you?

Is काङ्क्षे acceptable in लौकिक speech? I think this dhatu is given as परस्मैपद.

Yes, I was directed to काङ्क्षे by its usage in the Bhagavad-Gita: न काङ्क्षे विजयं कृष्ण. Will change it to something else.
