Debroy has translated the Bhagavad Gita, the Mahabharata (10 volumes), Harivamsha, the Valmiki Ramayana (3 volumes), the Bhagavata Purana (3 volumes) and the Markandeya Purana. He has finished a translation of Brahma Purana (2 volumes) and is now working on a translation of Vishnu Purana (1 volume).

1947 born Pradip Bhattacharya is from Calcutta, India. He has been the West Bengal State Govt.'s nominee on the Board of Governors, Indian Institute of Management Calcutta for over 15 years and was on the editorial board of its Journal of Human Values. An Indian Administrative Service officer, he has a PhD in Comparative Literature for his research on the Mahabharata, a Post Graduate Diploma with distinction in Public Service Training from Manchester. He is India’s only International HRD Fellow (awarded by Manchester University and the Institute of Training and Development, UK) and an MD in Homeopathy. He has authored and edited 33 books and published numerous articles in India and abroad on Public Administration, Comparative Mythology, Mahabharata, Homeopathy, Management and Human Values. His latest books are: “The Mokshadharma Parva of the Mahabharata” the most complete English translation sloka-by-sloka in verse and “The Jaiminiya Mahabharata--a critical edition of two manuscripts with sloka-by-sloka translation in English verse”. He has chaired sessions and presented papers in International and National Conferences on the Mahabharata in Kolkata, New Delhi, Mumbai and Ahmedabad.” | |
