Shivaji Savant's Mrityunjay query

I apologise for a query that's only obliquely Sanskrit related, but
I'm not sure what else to try.
I've been getting together various translations of the above novel to
create an app for small group use, but can't find the full Hindi and
Kannada versions. If anyone knows where I can buy these, please reply
(ideally I'd be after ebooks, since it's not easy to get booksellers
to ship to the UK). Interlibrary loans didn't help here because I
requested the Hindi translation, but the lending library sent the
Marathi original, which I already have.

     If you read Marathi,  I would recommend a book by Daji Panshikar titled कर्ण खरा कोण होता?.  This is not a novel, but a critical evaluation of Karṇa based on a study of the Mahābhārata, a counter to the one-sided glorification of Karṇa seen in some Marathi novels.

Dear Professor Deshpande,

Thank you for this reference. I confess that I didn't get far into the
Marathi original with my Hindi, so to read something in Marathi
comfortably I'll need to get used to the language a bit more. However,
the tendency to glorify Karna is interesting enough that I'll probably
end up scraping together enough Marathi to get on with the novel;
finding the Hindi translation would help a lot with this. Plus, in the
process of working on the app and linking dictionaries to it, my own
Marathi can only improve.

One of my friends had gifted me a book called 'Karna On Trial'. This seems to be very similar to Prof. Deshpande's recommended book. A quick search on the internet gave me a link to get this book.

मराठी - हिन्दी - गुजराती

आहे   -   है     -   छे (છે)

जीवनात काय कमतरता आहे? - जीवन में क्या कमी है? - जीवनमां शुं खुटे छे? (જીવનમાં શું ખુટે છે.)

You could draw your own conclusion.

Unfortunately I don’t know Marathi, so I can’t reliably compare, much less based on one sentence. To my (ignorant) eye, Hindi seems closer.

I dont think so.

There are many books in Marathi dealing with different characters of Mahabharat,esp.by Shankar Damodar Pendse.His book is titled, महाभारतातील व्यक्तिदर्शन,wherein he discusses many important characters, males as well as females.The scholarly books by Balshastri Hardas on Ramayana, Mahabharat etc.fall in this category,but,I don't think anybody has tried his/ her hand at translating those voluminous and excellently written books. Those books came in the 1960-80 timeframe.
