In the dictionaries I came across the word जात्यः whose derivation was given as जाति + यत् where जाति being created using the क्तिन् pratyaya. Superficially, it seems that अचो यत् usage is justified. However, I found the following kashika vritti i.e.
तकिशसिचतियतिजनीनामुपसंख्यानम्
restricting such usage to specific words with इन् unadipratyaya not क्तिन् .

Another thought I had was that it is probably something to do with sutras that come under the adhikara of तस्यापत्यम् but I am unable to identify precisely which one. Any direction in this regard will be appreciated.

तत्र भवः। यचि भम्। यस्येति च। I think these sutras will help. अचो यत्।  Here यत् is कृत्-प्रत्यय which is not correct in the present context.

Is it possible for you to present a step by step application of the sutras to help me understand better?

The word जात्यः expresses the sense of the expression जातौ भवः। Therefore we take into consideration the the अधिकार सूत्र 'तत्र भवः' (4.3.53) and to convey this sense we will add the taddhita suffix यत् । The next sutra is दिगादिभ्यो यत्। Though this particular word is not given in दिगादि list yet we will take this sense into consideration as it is mentioned in the dictionaries. The situation will be जाति + यत्। Now by the aphorism यचि भम् the word  जाति is treated to be भसंज्ञक। Since it has become  भसंज्ञक, by the sutra यस्येति च the last vowel इ of the word  जाति will be elided and we will have the form जात्यः।
I hope this will help you to comprehend what I wanted to convey mentioning these three aphorisms. Please let me know if you have some questions.

Sincerely
Kanshiram

I think I will accept your answer as authoritative but if you don't mind would you comment on my following speculation if it makes sense. Do you think it if I considered जाति as a नामधातुः then do you think अचो यत् invocation would be sensible?

No, you are misled into this thinking by the Vartika given on the sutra अचो यत् in the Kashika which you also quoted. That Vartika is an exception to the rule itself
as these roots end in हल्। Okay, in case we take जाति as नामधातु, then how would you avoid the गुण of इ occurring at the end of जाति by सार्वधातुकार्ध…
Please study Nyasa and Mahabhashya along with Kashika.

Ah. Right. I forgot यस्येति च only applies for तद्धित् . Thanks.

It is well in order to discuss shaastra related issues in this forum even if it is or appears to be between two individual members. The onlooking members may get benefitted from these discussions.

As long as the discussion has no impolite expressions, irritating digressions etc., such conversations should not be objected to.

The present thread so far has no such negative features.

The conversation is welcome to continue.

Respected Nagaraj Paturi jee,

Thank you for the encouraging words. My nature is that if somebody is facing a problem of which I know the solution, I try to help because I have been a teacher of this kind in the University of Delhi from 1971 to 2007. I do not respond to such remarks which give rise to negative and irritable features. We are here to learn from each other.

This is a very detailed and patient explanation. I can appreciate the steps having gone through several hours of the classes run by Shri Satish Karandikar, that have been put out on the AVG website. Unfortunately, these classes have stopped a few years ago, so also the daily posts.
