CALL FOR PARTICIPATION
This year's theme is Panini and Grammar. Suggested subtopics are outlined below. Selected papers included in the proceedings will receive an honorarium of $50 each.

Proceedings of last year’s symposium may be downloaded free at https://www.indiadiscoverycenter.org/bookdownload.html

THE VEDAS AND ORAL GRAMMAR
Exploring the Vedas as records of human expression in syllables, and examining whether elements such as number, gender, and tense arise from cognition or are purely linguistic. Contributions may also study Panini’s use of suffixes and their possible scientific basis.

PANINIAN VERBS
Examining the derivation of verbs from related sounds and their role as foundational roots. Contributions may explore links between verbs and objects, and analyse verb classification and conjugation.

GRAMMAR AND MATHEMATICS
Panini’s system employs grouping, tagging, substitution, and generalisation, often compared with modern set theory. Contributions may examine mathematical structures and computational aspects in grammar.

WORD ETYMOLOGY
Studying the origin and transformation of words across regions, including the neurophysics of speech, sound patterns, rhythm, and possible musical structures in language.

INDO-EUROPEAN LANGUAGES
Exploring the development and movement of language features in and out of India, and the philosophical perspectives embedded in language. Contributions on language and the evolution of thought are welcome.
