Samhita and bramhana

Dear vidvamsas,

       I have heard that samhitas are memorized by students and Bramhanas are the practical applications of the samhitas. Are there any books that help us understand with examples how Bramhanas are used to practically apply the samhitas?

NO . I have learnt संहिता , ब्राह्मणम् and उपनिषत्  -- i e committed to heart .

No such book is available .

While learning itself one would understand the ब्राह्मणवाक्यानि । 

Take a couple of examples ---

तैत्तिरीयम् - अरुणम् (61,62,63) --

1.(अपक्रामत गर्भिण्यः) अष्टयोनीमष्टपुत्राम् ..... गर्भः प्राजापत्यः । (यथास्थानं गर्भिण्यः) |

(let pregnant ladies go away ) ...(let pegnant ladies be free) .

Some decades ago pregnant women  were being given water purified with these मन्त्रs for easy delivery .

2. इति मन्त्राः । कल्पो’त ऊर्ध्वम् । यदि बलिग्ं हरेत् । .... सर्वभूताधिपतये नम इति  । ibid 123,124

3. संवत्सरमेतद् व्रतं चरेत् । द्वौ वा मासौ । नियमस्समासेन । .......अन्यद्वा शुक्लम् । यथाशक्ति वा । एवग्ग्ं स्वाध्यायधर्मेण । अरण्ये’धीयीत । तपस्वी पुण्यो भवति तपस्वी पुण्यो भवति। (ibid , 128,129,130) .

तैत्तिरीये स्वाध्यायब्राह्मणम् --

In this प्रश्न , one would find a number of विधिs -- यज्ञोपवीतधारणम्  -  सन्ध्यावन्दनम् (along with the story)  - कूष्माण्डहोमः पवित्रीकरणार्थम् -  व्रतम् (quoted in पस्पशा , महाभाष्यम्) - भ्रूणह्त्या  -  पञ्चमहायज्ञाः - आचमनम् (त्रिराचामेत्) - दक्षिणा - वर्षे अमावास्यायाम् वायौ ... अध्ययननिषेधः - अनध्यायौ - अरण्ये ग्रामे वा अध्ययनम् - वेदविदि ब्राह्मणे सर्वदेवताः तस्मान्नमस्कुर्यात् नाश्लीलं कीर्तयेत् इत्यादीनि ।
