Dr. Murty garu,
Namaste. You have given us exhaustive references on the query. Till now I was not aware of the Sanskrit equilent for cashew-nut. Not it is clear with its botanical name also. Thanks.

Dr. Murty, I want it actually for medicinal purpose. It is definitely a clay related to the mountain : may be that of Simhala dviipa. Its relation is particularly to bones and its diseases. I do not know whether fragrant clay of the Vaishnavas can heal bone. It is like the clay Gazani which came from Gazani and used in a number of diseases. Its identity will reveal something in the history of medicine and its migration. I will also search. Regards, spnarang

1. पार्वती (रा.नि. 6.1510)

2. (पार्वती -->) धातकी (.सू. 4.9)
धाय means Fire flame bush.
Woodfordia fruticosa kurz.
3. (धातकी -->) ताम्रपुष्पी (.नि. 3.90)
Hope, this may provide a bit of information needed. Prasad
