Dear Vidwans,

I am attaching herewith an audio file of the Shuddha Plosive Consonants.  The recording is in the background of a metronome so that the difference in the effort to phonate a short vowel and a long vowel will become evident.

Vidwans are requested to opine on the rendition.

With regards,
Achyut Karve

Dear Vidwans,

I am attaching an audio file of the Barakhadi Sutras comprising the मृदु or कोमल plosive consonants.  The barakhadi is voiced swarita.

With regards,
Achyut Karve.

Dear Vidwans,

I am herewith attaching herewith the barakhadi of the शुद्धा plosive consonants in the order of the अच् vowels.  This arrangement helps in determining as well as appreciating how the position of voicing of the plosive consonants shift when they are suffixed to the अण् vowels.

Dear Rahulji,

The Upadhmaniya and the Jihvamuliya are not included in the Maheshwar Sutras as such they are considered as ayogavaha letters (possibly they are subsequent corruptions in the Sanskrit language ).  These letters cannot be included or composed in the sutra form.

As you will see that the visarga though considered to be ayogavaha letter, it could be included in the barakhadi sutras at सःशषत् as such the visarga is a chaste letter.  However you will find that it does not take on the vowels as well as it cannot be lengthened.  It has been derived from the ह of the 14th Maheshwar Sutra हल्.

With regards,
Achyut Karve.

Much obliged to read your comments and explanation shrii Karve mahodaya
of course these are not included in the maheshwara sutrani.

I found your audio clips very useful guides and thought I may ask for updhmaniya and jihvamuliya as reading about them does not give an idea about the uccaaraNa

best regards
Rahul

Dear Vidwans,

I am now attaching herewith two audio files of the Barakhadi in the order of the अच् vowels  for the  कोमल or मृदु consonants.  The vowels ऋ and ऌ cannot be suffixed to vowels in sutra form and instructed.  In order to instruct them we need to suffix त्  like कृत् खृत् and कॢत् खॢत् and instruct.

With regards,
Achyut Karve
