Dear friends,
The RgVeda talks about a state of शं, a state of silence when the object
stays in harmony with the universe without an interaction.  The breathing as
an activity operates but there is no desired exercise.  I have interpreted this
as the state of वस्तु in the neurological model that I am developing.  The वस्तु
exists, it is cognized with its properties, but there is no interaction because
there is no "I".  The model asserts that the fundamental cosmological state
of the brain has no "I" in it, since "I" is not a perceived object.   The concept
of "I" comes through an imagination faculty in the brain when the latter
constructs "I" as an imaginary  वस्तु .  Since "I" is imaginary its features are arbitrary, local and unnatural.  It is customized to the individual.
The शं universe operates through a built-in optimization which would appear
unchanging नित्य in our local timescale. The शं state has activities of production and decay that are necessary to maintain the state.  We stretch the view that
the शं state manifests as प्रज्ञा state in our brain, a state that gives us the objective view in any given situation.  The rules of  शं in the universe are imprinted as rules of righteousness which are natural and non-local.  There
is always a local action that is prompted to maintain the शं state of the universe.
In the linguistic sense, this would be called स्वधर्म. प्रज्ञा is purely neurological, it does not have a label, it does not have an "I".
I have explained some of this in the lecture video I circulated. There are new
nuances and so I wrote this note.  It is a delight to note that the vedic seers did try to conceive a self-contained universe, though I have not found their analysis yet.  I will be grateful to receive any leads.
Best regards,
Bijoy Misra
