वरदराज भट्ट is famous as the author of an abridged version of his गुरु भट्टोजि दीक्षित's restatement of पाणिनि,  सिद्धान्तकौमुदी, called लघुसिद्धान्तकौमुदी.  He also created a larger abridgement called  मध्यसिद्धान्तकौमुदी, and an even smaller one called सारसिद्धान्तकौमुदी.  He is the author of one more text, गिर्वाणपदमञ्जरी which is a sort of easy primer for novice students of संस्कृत.  It is also a fascinating glimpse into the culture and people of 17th century काशि.  It was printed many years ago as part of the Gaekwad's Oriental Series and I have been reading a PDF of that edition from archive.org.

In it, there is a discussion of what is considered दुराचार in various regions.  and the following वाक्य occurs:

गौडद्राविडकेरलउत्कलमैथिलेषु कफलवतण्डुलौदन भोजनं दुरावारः।

First of all is the spelling correct?  The PDF was a little illegible on that page and I'm not sure if I have  transcribed it correctly.   Secondly does this word mean "a cooked dish of ripe fruit and rice"?  I was not able to find it in any dictionary.  Third, if so, why would eating it be a दुराचार?  (and in those regions in particular?)

Any answers will be gratefully appreciated.
