Dear Scholars, Devotees, and Spiritual Seekers,

I am delighted to share that Mantra Artha Initiative(Mantrartha)  a repository of in-depth, pre-recorded video lectures on Vedic healing mantras, stotras, Yoga philosophy, and the Bhagavad Gītā.has touched 400 hours of content

What is the Mantra Artha Initiative?

  • It is a carefully curated project aimed at bridging the gap between the chanting of Vedic texts and a clear understanding of their meaning.

  • Though these mantras and stotras are chanted with devotion, their deeper significance often remains unexplored — this initiative aims to remedy that by providing lucid English explanations by Dr. M. Jayaraman, a traditionally trained Vedic scholar.

  • As the Nirukta reminds us:

    “योऽर्थज्ञ इत् स सकलं भद्रमश्नुते … ज्ञानविधूतपाप्मा” — One who understands the meaning attains well-being, and knowledge purifies from faults.

What Content Is Covered?
The initiative offers a broad and rich curriculum, organized into thematic areas:

CategoryApproximate Hours
Vedic Mantras163 hours, including Śānti mantras, Sūktas (Nārāyaṇa, Puruṣa, Śrī, Bhu, etc.), Rudra mantras, Gayatri, Ayur mantras, and more
Stotras (Hymns)52 hours, such as Ganesha Aṣṭakam, Guru Aṣṭakam, Mahā Lakṣmī Aṣṭakam, Mukunda Mālā, Aditya Hṛdayam, and others
Yoga Texts65 hours, including the six cleansing kriyās from the Haṭha Yoga Prajñāpīḍikā, Yoga Sūtras of Patañjali, meditation teachings from Krishnamacharya’s Dhyāna Malika, and psychosomatic illness insights from the Yoga Vāsiṣṭha
Bhagavad Gītā109 hours covering core Yogic teachings, triguna theory, karma yoga, bhakti yoga, and more
Other Texts10 hours, such as Parokṣa Rāmāyaṇa

In addition, there are live courses from time to time (for example, a course on Buddhi Yoga starts on 6 Aug 2025) for those who want interactive learning.

How to Access It

  • If you are interested in self-study, you can request access by writing to mantr...@gmail.com

  • A Svādhyāya (self-study) fee is applicable, and then the playlists are shared via email.

  • Please note: the content is for individual use. Redistribution, public sharing, or display is not permitted, as all copyright remains with Dr. M. Jayaraman.

Why This Initiative Matters

  • For scholars, this is a rigorous and well-structured commentary resource — especially valuable if you are working on Vedic studies, Sanskrit, or Yoga philosophy.

  • For practitioners, it deepens your spiritual practice: knowing what the mantras mean transforms the act of chanting from rote repetition into a conscious, meaningful journey.

  • For seekers of wellness, the teachings illuminate how ancient Vedic wisdom contributes to holistic well-being — physical, mental, and spiritual.

Invitation to Participate
I warmly invite you — whether you are a traditional scholar, a modern researcher, a Yoga teacher, or simply someone drawn to the beauty and depth of Vedic texts — to explore this initiative. Your engagement, reflections, and feedback will enrich this effort and help spread the profound benefits of understanding these spiritual treasures.
