Oh! Great loss to Indological Scholarship. I am shocked on this news. He has been very revered senior colleague of mine being professor at my University's Hoshiarpur (Punjab) Campus, and very kind on me. It is very sad that I am getting this news through Bharatiya V. Parishat.  I pray for the  eternal piece in his heavenly abode.

Sad, I had mentioned his critical edition of the Āśvalāyanasaṃhitā of the Ṛgveda only a few days ago on the forum.

It's a very shocking news to us. Prof. B. B. Chaubey (1940-2014) was a great scholar of Indological, specially Vedic studies and had earned international reputation in large scale. His contribution in exploring the textual tradition of the Vaadhuula and Ashvalaayana school is unique and path-breaking. His credit goes to a number of publications relating to the Vedas, Vedangas, Vedalaksanas, history of Sanskrit and Vedic literature, manuscriptology, cultural history, linguistics, etc. I met him several times and learnt many things regarding Vedic religion and culture. He visited our School of Vedic Studies, Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata, on many occasions and advised us in many ways for advancement of Vedic study and research in West Bengal. Under his guidance we undertook a major research project on Ancillary Vedic Texts on Phonetics. He himself prepared an edition of Stobhaanusamhaara-kaarikaa with Eng. & Hindi translation under this project and sent us before his illness. It is going to be published very soon by the School. With the passing away of this sincere dedicated highly acclaimed scholar of amiable nature the Sanskrit community has suffered an irreparable loss. On this day of cremation of his mortal body, we pray, may his immortal soul rest in eternal peace!

Prof. Chaubey's passing away is an irreparable loss... He lived a very pious and extremely organised life. He had been a devoted worshipper of the Vedic tradition all through his life. He placed the Vedic tradition and its study and research above anything else in his life.

Anyone who came in close contact with him knows that his was a life entirely possessed by the Vedas and nothing else. His was a life submerged in the ocean of learning.

The great soul that was Prof. Chaubey can never be away from us. His loving nature, smiling face and caring attitude will continue to stay with us with all tenderness, . Surrounding us ever there will be his warmth of affection and shower of blessings on all our actions.

May you rest in peace...may you ever be in eternal peace...
