I was urging them to be more explicit about the freedom of the font. In their opinion, the font is free for all to use, and they only want to help and serve the world. Here's what the Swami said:
We do not know about this licensing stuff, but the Sanskrit 2003 font is made available freely to anyone to use.

I imagine they would be fine with someone modifying the font. Obviously it would be sensible to give the modified font a slightly different name. And it would be appropriate to return the modifications to the Ashram in case they wish to make a new release themselves in future.Everything the Ashram said to me makes leads me to believe that they would never dream of taking anyone to court over the font, and that on the contrary, they are glad that people are finding it useful.Dominik--| Professor Dominik Wujastyk | Singhmar Chair in Classical Indian Society and Polity | Department of History and Classics, University of Alberta, Canada |

Unfortunately, I cannot see the "inlined" image.... but I attach what I
can produce on my computer and I cannot see a problem: it is clearly
readable.

Dear Colleagues,I had communicated issues with the font Sanskrit 2003 to Swami Satchidananda of Omkararashram, and to my dilight, he immediately responded and sent me an updated version of this font. I installed this font on my MacBook this morning, and, yes, it has taken care of the issue of the anusvāra merging with the sign for short "i" as you can see in this sample:This can be compared to the previous sample with the older version of the font:I am grateful to Swamiji for helping me out. For the benefit of those who are using this font, I have attached the updated font file. With best wishes,Madhav DeshpandeAnn Arbor, Michigan, USA

Is it possible to type Sanskrit with a Devanagari font using Baraha transliteration scheme in Ubuntu linux?

Sanskrit 2003 is a beautiful font.
Just sharing my exp & my wishlist..
(1) The issue I face is when words are underlined the line appears over the mAtrAs that r written below the letter...
(2) also we can't highlight/ bold a specific letter in a jodAxar ..the while jodAxar , mAtrA gets highlighted.. I have worked in shreelipi font which has this helping font...
