Sanskrit saying — taking up new work

Learned folks, 

Years ago I came across a Sanskrit saying that could be translated somewhat as “Don’t take up anything new unless you have completed your present/old task”. I recall that it seemed to be from a traditional text.

If you happen to know, would you please share it, along with the citation?

अनारम्भो मनुष्याणां प्रथमं बुद्धिलक्षणम् । आरब्धस्यान्तगमनं द्वितीयं बुद्धिलक्षणम् ॥
आरम्भशूराः खलु दाक्षिणात्याः is a derisive way of saying completion is never planned!

    The verse:

    >अनारम्भो हि कार्याणां प्रथमं बुद्धिलक्षणम्।
    >आरब्धस्याऽन्तगमनं द्वितीयं बुद्धिलक्षणम्॥

    is from Pañcatantra 3.123.

    On a side note, similar sūkti is found in Mallikāmakarandanāṭakam by Rāmacandrasūri (disciple of Hemacandrasūri):

    अनिर्वहणे हि प्रारम्भो नीचतां प्रकाशयति।
