Namaste All
Writing to this learned audience to check if there are any good commentaries of Devi Mahatmiyam in English/Hindi or Tamil.

I am aware of the Bhaskaraya Guptavati, would anyone know a translated version of the same in English or Hindi.

Also any good references to the Devi Suktam Sayana Bhashya of Rig Veda....prefer Eng or Hindi or Tamil.

Appreciate any help here.

Namaste,

Swami Satyadev's Sadhan Samar is an exhaustive commentary on Devi Mahatmyam. Its Hindi version is available at https://archive.org/details/SadhanSamarPart3Of3/Sadhan%20Samar%20Part%201%20of%203/

English translation can be purchased from Mortilal Benarsidass or from online sellers like exoticindia.

VS Agrawala's Glorification of the Great Goddess, contains English translation, intro and detailed annotations.

regards
shankara

Thanks a lot Shankara ji,
I will buy the English version of Sadhana Samar. V S Agrawala's book is not opening for me it only is showing 1-2 pages on Archive. Do you have a PDF version handy. Can you please share.

Also are there any books you will know of Devi Mahatmyam which gives the tattva or tatparya aspect of text based on authentic seers or commentaries in Eng or Hindi.

Dhilip ji,

Vs Agrawala's book at archive.org is meant for online reading and borrowing. I think you can read it online after registering at archive.org. I will look for its soft copy elsewhere and share with you, if possible.

I am not aware of any other commentary worth mentioning.

FYI - There was a great Tantra scholar name Brahmasri Kandiyur Mahadeva Sastri in Kerala in the last century. He translated the sapta-tika of Durgasaptasati into Malayalam (extracts only in some cases). It is a very useful work. I am not aware of similar works in Hindi or English.

regards
shankara
