On the free word order in Sanskrit:
न क्रमेणैव लावण्यं मुक्तानां गुम्फने स्रजि।
यत्रेष्टं तत आरभ्य पूर्णत्वं समवाप्नुयात्॥
“A necklace does not acquire its beauty just by the order in which its pearls are arranged. Indeed, one may start (arranging them) where one wants and eventually attain completeness.”
पदानां देववाण्यां च विन्यासो मणिहारवत्।
तस्यां सर्वं पदं प्रोतं “सूत्रे मणिगणा इव”॥
“The same is true for words in Sanskrit, the language of the devas. In Sanskrit, words are strung in the same manner as pearls on a thread.”
