Dear all,

With a new hope on the eve of sankranti, that govt might take necessary action to remove the "error" in the said circular and recirculate it, I am to request all sanskritists and indologists start sketching some good plan for future of Sanskrit in india. Let us BVP also author a collective draft plan to submit to the commission on behalf of BVP.

I seek support.

With regards.

Thanks Dr. Mahender for circulating the letter that avoids unnecessary confusion.

Anyway we have really great and accomplished people in the commission. We are sure that the Chairman and the other honourable members of the committee, who themselves are experts in various fields of Sanskrit, will create a clear roadmap for future of Sanskrit and Indlogical studies and research. However, as we know some of the members are the members of BVP. Hence I request all of you to start sharing your ideas in one thread, so that they can collect these plans and take it to the notice of the commission.

lets start writing in the same thread or a separate one. BVP manager can support us in this matter.

I also request Dr. Ramanujam to take initiative in this work as a senior member of BVP as well as the commission. I will be coordinating this thread.

with warm regards,
shrivarakhedi

Respected All,

Namaste.

Thanks to the unknown force that instigated to issue the corrected circular on constituting Second Sanskrit Commission. As Prof. Varakhedi opined, we should start a new thread for discussion and he should coordinate the same. We need to re-look into the plight of current Sanskrit education, based on the past recommendations (of 1st Sanskrit Commission) to ensure all such recommendations are effective to date and no lacunae peeps over the implementations.  For the past six decades, since the first Sanskrit commission's report (1957), radical changes took place in the curriculum of higher education in India. So, considering these temporal changes, the future recommendations of Sanskrit propagation should be devised, as I feel.

Before expressing any of our views, we need a thorough study and understanding of aspects of Sanskrit education, say, from the system of Veda pathasalas to interdisciplinary research in Universities. Interested can access http://www.teindia.nic.in/mhrd/50yrsedu/u/45/3Z/Toc.htm to know more about the recommendations of the first Sanskrit commission, in order to revisit, bring forth innovative ideas.

It is fortunate that eminent scholars and researchers are members of our forum (including some new commission members). I believe, soon, honorable members of BVP will ponder over the pestering issues in Sanskrit promotion in our country. The views of members can be categorically classified to make a detailed report to be submitted to the Sanskrit Commission by coming June/July. The views expressed may be the core of Sanskrit scholarship in our country and should form helpful material for the Sanskrit commission's final report.

Thanks and regards,

Namaste all,

Today I had discussions with Dr. Ramanujam CDAC who is a member of Sanskrit commission. He will be giving full time for commissions activity. He will be an access for BVP members. I will assist him to take the points posted on BVP.

Therefore I request the members to take part in this creation of future of Sanskrit. Each n every point you make here will carve the future of Sanskrit. Kindly stand in the future that you imagine for Sanskrit and share the points with us.

For better management we announce the topics to be taken up for discussion. Throw light on the same topic.

Thank you very much.

With regards,
Shrivara

Namaste

1. Congratulations to Dr.Ramanujam and good wishes for his success in shaping the future of deliverables from Sanskrit Commission.

2. IF a percentage of what all has already been put up as wish list from Samskrutham traditions can be brought on working models with political will and strength in the spine through the wisdom persuasion of the experts, much can be achieved .Swalpamapyasya Dharmasya, trayate mahato bhayaat.

Let not the work be save the ‘head’ at the cost of the ‘body’ creating a Rahu-ketu’ syndrome. The whole body (Vishwam) has to get the benefit from Samskrutham. When not all are ready to  ‘ hop on to the Moksha flight’, a two wheeler at least needs to be delivered to the common user in global village society.

We are with you for this.

Regards

BVK Sastry
