Sad news: Narayan Joshi passed away

Dear respected scholars and friends:

I am sad to inform you that one of my close friend, Narayan Joshi passed away yesterday.

For over 15 years there was not a single day that we did not talked in the evening and often discussed about the many things and exchange our perspectives on discussions on BV Parishad.  We always appreciated depth of your respective knowledge and admired all of you.

I am going to miss him.

I have known him for more than two decades.  Both of us were members of the Indian Civilization, and later Hindu Civilization Google Groups of Shri S. Kalyanaraman.  We had corresponded through posts in these groups and had also email exchanges.

This is very sad news. 

We knew each other through our correspondence since my membership in the Yahoo-HC group around 2001.

This continued later on BVP also particularly about my probabilistic model of classical music.

He was passionate about ancient India and Sanskritic culture. His approach of analysing ancient texts logically along modern lines appealed to me. 

In addition he was also a Vibration specialist. I feel his demise as a personal loss.

I am extremely saddened to know the passing away of Dr. Narayana Joshi.

It is a personal loss for me .

Dr. Joshi was Science- Oriented Researcher and Thinker , who explored the ‘Sound- Meaning’ connections at the level of ‘Varna- Akshara’ – Nitya –Sambandha, using the principles of Physics, connecting it to Bhartruhari.

 

For over fifteen years we had intense discussions on this topic. Someone need to pick up his line of thought on ‘ Permanent meanings associated with upasargas’ - and explore further research.

 

Dr. Joshi was an ardent devotee of Ganesha.
