Respected Members,

I found the Volume I - Part 2 of the the Pariśiṣṭas of the Atharvaveda edited by George Bolling and Julius Negelein on this archive link - https://archive.org/details/Bolling19093 , which deal with the Pariśiṣṭas no. 37 - 72. I was unable to find Part 1 of the text on archive.org or anywhere else. Does anyone have a pdf of it?

Best regards,
Saurabh Sharma

I think I downloaded a PDF of vol. 1 part 1 from the Internet Archive, years ago. But right now I cannot find it there; possibly it has been removed
for some reason. In any case you can download the PDF I have from this wetransfer.com link, which should be valid for a week:

Hari Om,

Is there a summary or a synopsis of these Pariśiṣṭas for someone like me who is yet uninitiated to the Atharva veda and its accompaniments? Please share.

warm regards,
ramesh

Pariśiṣṭas are supplementary portion of Vedas I don't understand what do you mean by initiation. Does one require  initiation   to study Vedas. If so no should read Vedas and I must stop reading I am not initiated

This book will meet your requirements.

The ancillary literature of the Atharva-Veda : a study with special reference to the Pariśistas

Author:B R Modak
Publisher:New Delhi : Rashtriya Veda Vidya Pratishthan, 1993.

Other briefer summaries and translations of some Parishshtas are also available, but the above books is the best in its treatment of all the texts between the two covers.

Still I would say  Pariśiṣṭas are extremely technical texts

Atharvaveda Parishishtas are really fascinating, especially in the context of the evolving omen and astrological traditions
of vedic culture in the last centuries BCE. It draws heavily from the Garga samhita / Gargiya-jyotisha for it's omen and astral
materials, a text which is currently being edited and studied by various scholars. Another important text associated with the
atharvaveda is the shanti kalpa and is one of the five atharvanic kalpas. Part I of the text has portions on astral worship and
ritual countermeasures. Can the vedic scholars on the group suggest further reading on the shantikalpa, and provide a rough
dating of the text (Pingree suggests babylonian influence on related texts like Kaushika sutra placing them post 500 BCE).
