PIJCACE — Poorvam International Journal of
Creative Arts and Cultural Expressions

Praṇāma, and warm greetings to the members of the Bhāratīya Vidvat Pariṣat,

I write to introduce PIJCACE — the Poorvam International Journal of Creative Arts and Cultural Expressions — to a community whose rigour and lineage in Śāstric scholarship this journal aspires to honour and serve.

PIJCACE is a peer-reviewed, semiannual journal published by Dhvani Publication, part of the wider Poorvam ecosystem. It carries a registered ISSN and Crossref DOIs for permanent citation, and is indexed or catalogued across eight scholarly platforms and library systems — from Crossref and Dimensions to WorldCat and Google Scholar — so that every article carries a stable, citable, and discoverable record. Its scope sits at the intersection of Sanskrit poetics, Nāṭyaśāstra studies, Indian aesthetics, and cultural expression more broadly — a space where classical śāstra and contemporary creative-critical writing can be read together, in English, without either being diminished by the encounter.

Editor-in-ChiefRik Amrit (Amritanath Bhattacharya)

Our most recent number, Volume 2, Issue 1, was released on 15 August 2026, with its preface framed around K.C. Bhattacharyya's Svaraj in Ideas — an essay we felt spoke directly to the question every serious Indological venture must eventually ask: on whose terms is our scholarship conducted, and in whose idiom does it think?

That is, in essence, also PIJCACE's founding concern. We would be glad if members of this Pariṣat considered the journal as a home for their research articles, translations, and critical essays — and equally glad simply to have your eyes on it, and your candour about where it falls short of the standard this community rightly expects.
