Christmas Hampers at St.Vincent's.

Dear Vincentians,

Every Christmas season deserving (financially challenged) students of St.Vincent’s are offered Christmas Hampers to brighten up their family lives during the festive season.

This year, after a long gap of 4 years, the school Mgmt selected 54 students (out of about 3,300) from different religious backgrounds, from the 1st to the 12th Std classes.

The following VOBA EC members (Richard, Karl, Aziz, Mushtaq, Shabbir, Nirmal & Ateeque with Secretary Thanmal) with some ordinary VOBA members (Allen, Imtiaz, Bobby, Murtuza, Saifee, Sagai, Arthur & Raymond) took up the project for preparation of these Hampers.

The item chosen were a mix of : 1 kg packet each of Rice, Sugar, Maida, Besan, Atta, Rawa, Masoor Dal, 1 lit Cooking Oil, besides 5 bars of Wheel washing soap, 5 bars of Lux bathing soap & 1 tube (200 gms) Colgate tooth paste & one Christmas Plum cake (cake donated by Farokh Irani)

All the above items placed in colorfully decorated bag (selected by Richard) cost a total of Rs.41,250. The EC Coordinating Duo of Richard Fernandes (78) & Ateeque Malik (75), appealed to just a very small group of 11 generous Vincentians who fully covered the cost.

In just 8 hours Rs.41,250 was raised from Raymond Rebello (75), Ronald Pereira (78), Daniel Rebello (14), Richard Fernandes (78), Ateeque Malik (75), Imtiaz Lokhandwala (84), Anonymous (77) & Karl Monteiro (92).

Even the vendor whose son is a VOBA member {Moinuddin N Kadiwalla (2015)} offered good discounts on the provisions & the market bags.

The Hampers were distributed on 19th & 20th Dec.
