I´m using bVNC on iOS quite successfully verifying certificates to authenticate my x11vnc server. To drive security one level up I´m considering to let x11vnc verifying client certificates (--sslverify).
But I cannot find a way to let bVNC make use of the imported certificate in .p12 format. There is no option in the settings, and it also doesn´t pop-up when I try to connect, like it is when a server certificate is to be verified.
Anyone tried it before and can share how to do it?

Hello,

The app does not currently support client certificates for VNC authentication. That being said, at this point what you can do as an alternative is to set up SSH authentication using an SSH certificate using the app's built-in SSH tunneling mechanism.

Sincerely,
iordan

Thanks for the very clear response, iordan, so I can stop searching for something that, simply, is not yet implemented 😁
Understanding that client certificate validation is not mandatory for x509vnc or x509plain in the Standard, are they any plans to make it availble in future releases?
Meanwhile, I‘m fine with server client based encryption + VNC challenge/response authentication.
Please let me know in case of any further advice,
BR, Thomas
