Hi,
First the facts. The plugin has not received a single update in 8
years. There are no developer docs. There is no community, mailing
list, or discussion forum. The author, Adam Walling, does not respond
to any kind of questions.
Now, the opinion. I would consider the plugin insecure at this point,
and extending support for it involves reverse-engineering 8 year old
C++ code with hardly any comments in it, no developer mailing list, no
support forum, and no replies to my questions. I think that given here
are better options out there, it's not worth spending the time on
writing support for the plugin for the moment. I have also resigned
myself to all the 1-star and 2-star reviews that say bVNC does not
support it.
That is not to say that help from my community in reverse engineering
the Secure Plugin protocol and writing the code for bVNC is not
welcome!
Let me take the opportunity to mention some of the awesome
alternatives to this plugin.
1) SSH tunneling. An OpenSSH server can be installed on practically
any operating system including Linux, Mac OS X, Windows, and BSD.
2) VeNCrypt. This encryption method is supported by one or more VNC
servers, including the cross-platform TigerVNC server.
Please let me know if you have any other questions, or you would like
to contribute code to support the plugin!
Sincerely,
iordan
