Hello. When I connect to a Windows virtual machine using aSPICE (Mac App Store version) on my Macbook Pro with a hidpi screen, the Windows machine looks tiny. Is there a way to get aSPICE to double or quadruple the size (and thus request a lower resolution from the Windows machine)?

I connect to the same Windows VM from different macs and some need hidpi scaling and some don't so I can't just optimise the Windows VM settings. Thanks.

It depends on whether you are using a .vv file or have added a profile for the VM into the app.

In the first case, hit Edit Default Settings on the main screen and look in the bottom where you can toggle a button for Custom Resolution and set the resolution dimensions.

In the second case, you will need to do the same but in the profile of the VM you are connecting to. Right-click or long click to edit the profile.

Hello... Thanks. I use .vv files. I had set a resolution but didn't have the slider switched to the right so I guess it was ignored -- I'll try that. I'm not clear though what you are saying - will it request the resolution for the Windows machine (like 1280x768 maybe) then when it renders on my Mac 'retina' display (set to Default) it will be the 'right size' (pixel doubled)?

Yes, provided you size the app window up, the content will be scaled right up on your Mac.
