Every time I connect to a session it pastes my clipboard without and interaction from me. This can cause issues as sometimes its a large amount of text.

I can't seem to find and option to turn this off (like disable copy paste) or is it a bug that ive found ?

Many thanks

Hi James,

This is a known issue with piKVM servers - is it piKVM you're connecting to? Apparently when presented with clipboard contents, the piKVM server goes ahead and types them up on the remote side as keyboard input. I.e. there is no explicit way to trigger clipboard pasting. The way other VNC servers work is they populate the clipboard and delegate the paste operation to the remote operating system. If you think this is worth implementing, the only way to do it would be to add yet another option to the VNC client to govern clipboard integration. The downside is that the user would need to know about this issue and option before they first connect, which is unlikely. As a result, I think most users will have had some damage from the clipboard pasting into piKVM before they discover this feature and would already be angry.

I'd say, since piKVM is a standout in this regard, the option should be somewhere in piKVM settings, but  on the other other hand, this was discussed here: https://github.com/pikvm/pikvm/issues/1097 and was closed because there is a toggle to disable clipboard integration in the viewer...

You can add your 5 cents to piKVM and/or request a feature:

Please indicate the operating system on which you are running bVNC since it's available for Android and iOS.

Sincerely,
Iordan
