Reverse Beef Island Race Report & Results

Sunday 25 November saw the final race of the BVI Mountain Bike Club's 2012 Season, the Reverse Beef Island Race, which appropriately was the reverse course of the opening race of the season. Forty two cyclists including 7 cadets, 4 juniors and 31 adults braved the mud and puddles of the Beef Island Trails for some real down and dirty mountain bike action! The cyclists set off on a controlled group exploratory 4 mile lap of the course before the race start proper. The adults and Juniors then did a further 3 laps and the fun novice category rode 2 more laps. The race was dominated by Orano Andrews and Gareth Thomas who crossed the line together as did third and forth place Matt Crossman and Antony Spencer. The vastly improving Statius Talium took fifth whilst Anghel George stole sixth place from Alastair Abrehart on the last lap. The seven cadets raced after the adult event, and although there was a complete lack of girls the boys made up for it with gusto. All the cadets received medals and ribbons for their efforts and the top three adults in each category were awarded medals. Please see full results below:

The next event is the Annual Awards Dinner which will take place at Drake's Point on Saturday 1st December at 6:30pm. All are welcome. Advance ticket purchase is required.
