Dear All,
The BVI Mountain Bike Club is pleased to announce the final race of the year - the "Reverse Beef Island Race" on Sunday 28th November, 2012.
Race registration will be 6:00 - 6:45 am on the morning of the event at Trellis Bay. The race will commence at 7am or at least 15 minutes after the last registration.
The main course will be around 16 miles in total with laps around the trails and roads at Beef Island in the reverse direction of the March 2012 Beef Island Challenge. There will be categories for everyone including experts, veterans, masters, senior and grand masters, women, novices, juniors (15-18 years) and cadets (6-14 years). Shorter, easier courses will be available for novices so we encourage everyone to come out and have a go! Having no bike is no excuse as bikes with helmets are available to rent at Last Stop Sports Bike Shop (494-1120). Helmets are mandatory and suitable shoes should be worn (no flip flops or open sandals).
Entry fees (CASH ONLY)
Members - $5 - includes race entry and race course hydration
Non-members - $15 - includes race entry and race course hydration.
Cadets and under 18's - Free
Trellis Bay Kitchen & Cyber Cafe will be open after the race where breakfast and refreshments may be purchased
Our last event of the season is the Annual Awards Dinner on Saturday 1st December at Drake's Point at 6:30pm. Tickets will be on sale at the Reverse Beef Island Race - $20 adults and $10 kids under 12 years (cash only).
