    This is a great product. I bought this to replace my original equipment pool filter which cracked at the end of the third year. The original filter was not a Hayward. Since I was very happy with the Hayward pump that I purchased last year I decided to order a Hayward filter and I'm glad that I did. We had a warm winter this past year and my pool was in bad shape when I opened it. This filter did a great job of cleaning the pool and I have far better water clarity and circulation with this filter as compared to the original equipment filter. I bought the filter from an Amazon supplier named 'In the Swim' and it was a pleasure doing business with them. I ordered the filter on Monday morning and the filter arrived the next afternoon. I have been very pleased with both Hayward products that I have purchased from Amazon.

    5Very good product and price

    Purchased this sand filter after having a stainless steel DE filter that developed pin hole leaks after 26 years. I know that a DE filter is considered a better filter but, I had to replace the fabric membranes at least 4 times, and then to replace the DE or add it every back flush had become more effort than it was worth. The sand I hear, and I hope the information is true, last 10 years and you loose nothing in the backwash except the debris. The valve allows for several actions including a straight to trash setting for vacuuming, if you can afford the water loss. Over all this is a very good product.

    Easy hook up and installation. Had a cartridge filter before and would take me about 45 min to take it apart , clean it, and put it back together again. During swim months this would be every month. To clean this filter takes 5 minutes, turn to backwash until the water is clear, switch back to rinse till clear, and then switch to filter. Your done for 3 to 4 months-SAVES me about 2.5 hrs every 3 months of my time. HUGE TO ME......
    In addition, the cartridge had to be replaced yearly at $150 each. Sand cost me $100 for 400lbs and only has to replaced every 5 - 7 years so the cost per year would be around $20 vs. $150 for cartridge. WIN WIN WIN
