Just what I needed!

I purchased this pump for a 15' diameter Intex above ground pool that I bought last year. I was soo tired of cleaning and replacing the paper filter cartridges and this sand filter/pump setup did the trick. It came with everything needed except the sand and was a breeze to hook up and get going. I have been using it for about four weeks and can verify that all I read was true. Really simple to backwash and rinse the sand filter, which I've only had to do once so far. The 1600 gpm flow of the new pump is way better at moving and circulating the water as opposed to the 900 gpm original pump. I even bought a hose and vacuum head and now use the pump and filter to clean the bottom of the pool as opposed to the garden hose venturi setup that came with the pool. The new setup does a much better job of cleaning too. In summary, good price, good equipment value and easy to install. Highly recommend this for an easy upgrade!

Don't know why it's listed as a toy...

Heard about this item from the lady at our local pool supply store where I was spending lots and lots of money on chemicals to fight yellow algae, mustard algae, and general pool cloudiness. I was extremely pleased with the price and the speed of shipping! The 6 way valve alone seemed worth more than what I paid for the entire system!
The unit was easy to assemble and install but I was totally blown away by how fast it worked to clear up the pool. After only about 6 hours the cloudiness was gone and I was able to vacuum to waste the mustard algae. It still comes back from time to time but everyone in this area is battling it due to the drought. I have the timer set for 8 hours per day and the pool is clear!
I will caution potential buyers that you will need to backwash the sand every week or so and make sure you rinse for a minute afterwards. The same applies if you vacuum to waste as you'll just put the bad stuff right back in the pool if you don't backwash & rinse (learn from my fail).
GREAT UNIT FOR AN EVEN GREATER PRICE!!!
