Back story: I have a '04 2.5rs/ts Impreza with 185k and a clutch that was spewing metal dust... you could smell the clutch through the vent when it (the clutch) got hot, and it would shudder and slip badly from a red light.

I bought this flywheel and the OEM Exedy clutch. Everything that I read about lighter clutches is true about this one... First, it's a new flywheel, so it's much better than my old, worn one. Second, it's allowing my engine to rev up a little faster. Probably not as fast as an aluminum flywheel, but it's somewhat noticeable. Third, just like any lighter flywheel setup, I do have to feather it in at a higher RPM... with the stock wheel (in the past) I could get the Impreza from at least 500rpm and have it start without shudders. With this wheel, I have to rev a little higher... 1500-2000rpm. However, I was used to this due to driving with the worn flywheel (which required 2000+rpm starts) for so long.

It's good so far... the shop that installed it didn't have any trouble with installing it. I recommend giving it a try... it'll rev faster than stock, but it won't have the problems (requiring much higher revs to start smoothly) of the aluminum flywheels. The stock wheel is about 24 pounds, and this has been labeled as anywhere between 12 to 14 pounds. (Sorry I didn't weight it before getting it installed). Also this flywheel is relatively inexpensive compared to some of the fancy aluminum ones.
