Has anyone found a way to re-sync the Lumion + Vectorworks file without losing all the materials on Lumion? Every time I have to re-sync a project (e.g. after a tweak to the vws masterplan), I loose all the materials I previously applied on Lumion, but I keep the objects (e.g. peoples and plants).

I have seen this mapping error happen before but not for a while. If you change the texture/color of an object in VW it breaks the material mapping in Lumion but the wholescale loss of mapping is a different animal.

Very frustrating - we have learned to work it into our time estimates that we will have to retexture the Lumion model 3 or 4 times while preparing a presentation. We have learned to save the lumion textures we create to speed up the process of re-applying - but still nothing worse than having to redo the same work over and over.

I've rendered the following videos at 3 star quality on lumion, HD. The final walkthrough animations however come out with a lot of grain, or some sort of fuzziness especially for interior shots. What can I do to tackle this? Links to the two videos are pasted below:

Yeah, the trade off is always noise for time. The less noise you want, the more time it will take the render. Some off the issues look like you are using too strong of a sharpening filter, especially on the couch shots in the 2nd animation.

I would recommend to just render at max quality and output a larger image to give better pixel size to render. For instance if your final output is HD then render 1440 or 4K then reduce the size in post to HD. I am not a fan of any sharpening filter in any software really.

Hi,There are three components that are required to run the LiveSync connection:1. Revit2. the Lumion plugin (downloaded from here which ensures a connection)3. Lumion (the main application)The role of the plugin is to seamlessly transfer the information from the CAD software to Lumion. However, although the plugin is free, the main application can be obtained as a trial, a student version, or a commercial version. If you need any more assistance, please reach out to our support team here: -us/articles/360042039073

We downloaded and installed the 'free' Lumion add-in. (Revit 2023) when we pressed the play button a digi box appeared stating could not run in this version and must upgrade. Fine, clicked on it but then it takes you to the Lumion home page which is a paid sub...so Free is very misleading.

I have circular spaces in my project, in revit it looks smooth round without edges, but when ı throw it to the lumıon to render, the polygon numbers decrease and look diagonal. Is there a solution?I already set the parameter "smoothing surface" on high but the results is still bad.

Hi MarlenaThanks for asking. You can use LiveSync For Revit with student editions of Revit. Please contact Lumion Technical Support to assist (see links top right or at top of the product description).

Na hora de salvar o arquivo no aparece algumas opces como por exemplo salvar cenas, salvar modeloes e cenas... E depois do salvamento no possivel abrir o arquivo mais. Esse o unico problema que aparece, fora isso esse software otimo!

I was using Lumion LiveSync for a while and everything worked perfectly, but this week i've reinstalled Revit 2020 and Lumion LiveSync. After that, every attempt to export a collada file from any Revit model ended up in the "Object reference not set to an instance of an object" error message. I've tried to reinstall Revit, Lumion, LiveSync, but the issue perssits.

Livesync in Lumion 10 is most of the time not working and I have to reload the Lumion model to make it working again. It did't happened in Lumion 8 & 9 version. Hopefully this issue can be fix because it is a big wasting of time, especially when you work on multi million dollar projects!

Hi Alessandro, that's not a known issue. As this is meant to be for reviews rather than technical support, we'd encourage you to click on the link below to contact us as the Lumion Support Center, so that we can assist you with your problem. Thanks in advance..

Just downloaded this app and it's not working out too good so far. I turned livesync on and placed the model from Revit to Lumion. When I move/change elements in my Revit "Rendering Model", it changes in Lumion, which is good. BUT, my Revit "Rendering Model" has other Revit models linked to it. Sometimes I need to modify elements in those linked models, so I do that. Then I reload links in the "Rendering Model" so those changes reflect, which then automatically updates in Lumion. This works, but when I do that step ALL the material changes I've made in Lumion dissappear and the Revit model materials are back. I am not renaming any materials in Revit anymore, so I don't know why it would erase all material changes I made in Lumion. This issue is defeating the purpose of using LiveSync. Not sure what I'm doing wrong.

Hi Francisco, the first advice I'd like to give you is to never install cracked versions of Lumion as they prevent the legal version of Lumion from working correctly. As this is meant to be for reviews rather than technical support, we'd encourage you to click on the link below to contact us as the Lumion Support Center, so that we can help you clean up the mess that the cracked version of Lumion has made on your computer: -us/articles/360003490033

Sorry to hear that, David. We already submitted a new version of the plug-in to the Autodesk App Store but it can take a while before it's approved. In the meantime, please download the latest version directly from our Support Center:Download Lumion LiveSync for Revit: -us/articles/360007538494For future reference, we'd be grateful if you could please request support via the Lumion Support Center. Thanks in advance.
