Hello,

I am Max Overton. I have a varied background geographically, but my mother's family lived in India for over 200 years and I was baptised in Tamil Nadu. I now live in Townsville, Queensland, Australia.
I have an abiding interest in insects, and particularly butterflies and moths. I write novels and try to incorporate butterflies in the stories. I spent 2.5 years in Jamaica as a boy, hunting butterflies, and I have written a book about my Adventures of a Small Game Hunter in Jamaica. I worked on a PhD in Australia on butterfly communities, but was unable to finish.

I am Vijay Barve, from Bangalore, currently in Florida, US. I am interested in invertebrates mainly Butterflies and Moths. Love to document biodiversity, and help organize communities for biodiversity http://diversityindia.org/. Have been coordinating this community and ButterflyIndia meets since 2001. Active team member of IFB (https://www.ifoundbutterflies.org/) and BAI (https://www.bioatlasindia.org/). I am here to talk and learn about butterflies.

Great to know you Vijay.. should we continue the introductions here..I am Chitra Shanker am Entomologist by profession.i work for the Indian council of Agricultural Research. My area is habitat management strategies for insect pest management. I have been a part of these diversity groups since it's inception I thnk..I am a keen environmentalist and conservation supporter.. I have recently started the moth society of Telangana. Would like have a more active part in this group activities in future..
