Oneof Prime Video's shiniest offerings is a new Eddie Murphy-led Christmas comedy called Candy Cane Lane, which debuted on the first day of December. The streaming service also has an assortment of movies from Christmases past, including It's a Wonderful Life, Scrooged and the R-rated action movie Violent Night.

Peacock has at least two big things going for it this jolly season: Hallmark movies and The Grinch. If 2023 Hallmark holiday movies are what you're after, you can watch them live as they air on the East Coast with NBCUniversal's streaming service. You can also stream them on demand during a 72-hour period that starts the day after they air.

Max is a place to park your sleigh if you like classic Christmas movies. Elf resides here, as does National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation and A Christmas Story. On top of that, it offers the films A Christmas Story Christmas -- a sequel with Peter Billingsley reprising his role as Ralphie -- and 8-Bit Christmas -- an '80s-set comedy narrated by Neil Patrick Harris.

Last December, rather than just binging familiar Christmas movies like Elf, Home Alone, and Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, I spent the season with some Netflix films I'd never seen. They included a musical starring Keegan-Michael Key, a family-friendly fantasy with Kristen Wiig and Maggie Smith, and the animated standout Klaus.

Netflix has more worthwhile titles waiting under the tree. The R-rated film Love Actually is streaming, and you shouldn't skip the classic musical White Christmas. Disney Plus lands on this streaming "nice" list for hosting Home Alone, The Nightmare Before Christmas and The Santa Clause, among other seasonal favorites. On the new content front, it's gifted users Dashing Through The Snow, a 2023 comedy starring Lil Rel Howery and Ludacris, and The Naughty Nine, a heist flick that first premiered on the Disney Channel and features Danny Glover as Santa Claus.

Apple's streaming service offers Spirited, a new-ish musical starring Ryan Reynolds and Will Ferrell. You may also want to pair your couch lounging time with A Charlie Brown Christmas or the 2023 special The Velveteen Rabbit.

Hulu took its festive selection up a notch on Nov. 23, when Elf, The Polar Express and National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation debuted on the service. You can also celebrate the season with The Muppet Christmas Carol and Miracle on 34th Street.

First comes love, then comes a royal wedding in this delightful sequel to A Christmas Prince. Bonus: You can spend the movie trying to spot all the Meghan Markle references. (You can even turn it into a drinking game.)

A celebrity chef (Scott Cavalheiro) gets hired at a ski resort, and the thoroughly chagrined manager (Kaitlyn Leeb) finds their paths intertwining more than she expected. Not to spoil the whole movie, but: They fall in love.

Not every Christmas movie on Netflix takes place in a quaint little town dripping with snow and holiday cheer. El Camino Christmas is a grittier story of a man who goes in search of the father he never knew, only to end up in the middle of a liquor store holdup with his long-lost dad.

Chris (Ryan Reynolds) is a nerd who left his hometown, became a super successful music exec, and caught the eye of a pop star named Samantha (Anna Faris). But when their holiday trip takes a turn for the worse, Chris finds himself back home and embroiled in a love triangle with his high school bestie Jamie (Amy Smart), who broke his heart. Come for the romance, stay for Faris in a pitch-perfect camp performance.

Home Alone, but make it an airport. In this film, five kids find themselves snowed in at an airport on Christmas Eve, and they need to make it back to their families. But they have to outsmart a disgruntled airport official first.

To be honest, the films I can get away with watching in December are some of my favorite parts of the Christmas season. Every year, once I finish finals, the week leading up to Christmas is full of bingeing all of the holiday films. A tradition I kept through all of high school and some of college was watching Notting Hill on the afternoon of my last final, and while I still usually end up watching it right before Christmas because Richard Curtis movies just make me feel all the feels, I wanted to share my favorite, solely holiday-themed films that I love to watch this time of year.

It's the most wonderful time of the year!...for holiday movies, we mean. Come November, your television is full of commercials for box office and small screen films set around Christmas and other winter holidays. But did you know some of them were filmed in Georgia? Here are a few to watch with your loved ones this season, making sure to spot local landmarks.

In Hallmark's "Christmas in the Smokies" TV movie, a family fights to save their farm against all odds during the holiday season. But don't let the name fool you! The film -- which stars Sarah Lancaster, Barry Corbin, Alan Powell and Jill Wagner ("Teen Wolf") -- was actually filmed in the scenic town of Dahlonega in North Georgia. Three Sisters Vineyards & Winery and much of downtown were used for filming. Soak up the small-town holiday scene in Dahlonega, one of Georgia's 8 Small Towns that Do Christmas Right, all season long.

Also from Hallmark, "Christmas in Homestead" is about a famous actress who visits Homestead, Iowa, to film a movie during the holidays but ends up falling for a local innkeeper. Taylor Cole ("The Originals") stars alongside Michael Rady. And like with the previous movie, it was actually filmed in Dahlonega. Visit during Dahlonega's Old Fashioned Christmas to experience the festive atmosphere and feel like you're starring in your own holiday movie.

The Lifetime Network's "A Taste of Christmas" filmed in multiple locations in North Georgia, including Helen and Dahlonega. Starring Anni Krueger, Gilles Marini and Nia Vardalos, the romantic movie about an Italian restaurant opening includes several recognizable Dahlonega locations, such as The Dahlonega Square Hotel & Villas, Dahlonega General Store and The Festival of Trees. Stop by the Dahlonega Visitors Center for tips on where to find filming locations in town.

The NBC hit story of the life of country superstar Dolly Parton "Coat of Many Colors" led to a second film set during the holidays, "Christmas of Many Colors: Circle of Love." Both movies star Jennifer Nettles, Ricky Schroder and Alyvia Alyn Lind, and Dolly even makes some cameos in the Emmy-nominated movies. The TV movies filmed in hot spots Covington and Conyers. Both towns have film tours that show fans the real-life locations for places they've seen on big and small screens.

In the movie "Christmas on the Range," Kendall must fight to keep her family's ranch afloat when a rival family swoops in. But their charming son has her reconsidering everything. The movie stars Erin Cahill and Nicholas Gonzalez and was filmed in the North Georgia town of Clayton. Visit Clayton on Friday, Nov. 24, 2023, to experience Christmas in Downtown Clayton, featuring lighted displays and decorations, shopping specials, music and more.

In this made-for-television movie, a New York-based romance novelist looks for inspiration away from home after a series of career setbacks, but she finds more than content for her novel. It stars Julie Ann Emery and Burgess Jenkins, and was filmed in the coastal communities of Darien and St. Simons Island. The St. Simons Island Lighthouse also has a cameo.

In the TV One movie "Coins for Christmas," a single mom struggles to provide for her family during the holiday season as she is fired and her assets are frozen by the IRS. She is hired by a former pro football player, and the two are at odds but eventually bond. The movie stars Essence Atkins and Steven Bishop and was filmed in Atlanta, Dallas and Hiram.

The OWN television movie "Cooking Up Christmas" is about a chef fired right before Christmas. She has to take a job as a private chef for a single dad professional baseball player. Lamman Rucker ("Greenleaf") stars alongside Meagan Holder in this Atlanta-filmed movie.

The animated Nickelodeon series continues with the live-action Christmas movie "A Very Loud Christmas." The cast includes Wolfgang Schaeffer, Jahzir Bruno, Brian Stepanek and Muretta Moss. The movie used locations around Atlanta, including Decatur, Jonesboro, Lithia Springs and Stone Mountain.
