December 2025 Update

Dear all,

 

Here is the new year fleet news from Reading Buses.

 

 

Reading Buses

648 transferred to Thames Valley Buses on 17 December.

 

444, 447, 451 remain on site being prepared for service.

211, 212, 213, 806 remain for sale.

 

 

Newbury & District

1406 & 1408 were collected by North West Bus Sales on 23 December.

 

 

Thames Valley Buses

648 entered service on 20 December in plain white with no logos.

661 was withdrawn on 19 December and is being prepared for return to Dawson Rentals.

 

192 was returned to Dawson Rentals on 1 December.

660 and 663 were returned to Dawson Rentals on 13 December, 659 on 16 December, and 662 on 17 December. 663 has subsequently appeared with to Metrobus, Crawley where it entered service on 16 December.

 

126, 129, 130 remain on site for sale, 131 being prepared for scrap, and 191 stored for Dawson Rentals.

689 is still pending entry into service, so 1009 continues in short term use.

1209 remains in use temporarily, pending transfer of 649 from Reading.

Thank you Robert - appreciate getting your monthly updates.

Is there any news regarding the chargers being connected so that the electric buses can enter service?  It must be very exasperating for you to have buses available, but not being able to put them into service.

I agree Martin. I'm awaiting their introduction before I visit Reading again. Hopefully the delay, if there is one,is only a brief one.

Hi Robert,

Metrobus, Crawley now have 660 in addition to 663.

660 is numbered 6757 and 663 is numbered 6758.
