Dear all,

Here is the latest fleet news from the Reading Buses group of companies.

Reading Buses

Wright Electroliner demonstrator LY71 GJE arrived on the evening of 31 January, it will carry fleet number 1006 for its stay until 17 February. We expect to run it on claret 21a and greenwave 50.

762 went away for repaint into generic silver (ex Flightline 730/731) at Bus & Coach World on 13 January.

760 returned from repaint into generic silver on 27 January.

309, 436 & 437 were delivered from Bus & Coach World on 13 January. 309 still in Stagecoach livery, 436/7 in partial buzz livery. 436-9 are being prepared to enter service on Monday 5 February.

1210 gained an all-over livery for the company’s charity of the year Royal Berks Charity on 15/16 January, in place of lion livery, relaunching on 17 January.

241-8 are being prepared to enter service on the lion 4/X4 on Monday 12 February. We are still awaiting delivery of generic 741.

789 has gained a MegaRear for Newbury College.

863 went on loan to N&D on 24 January.

Newbury & District

1422 entered service on 4 January.

1426 and 1427 entered service on 10 January in base white. They will gain full N&D livery at half term.

1205 and 1206 were withdrawn on 15 January, following issues identified with them in September that have proven not cost effective to repair (last days in service were 1205 - 18 September 2023, 1206 - 20 September 2023). In effect 1210/11 will be retained at Reading with the arrival of the new lion vehicles, and other vehicles will be cascaded to N&D to replace them in due course.

Thames Valley Buses

662 has been repainted into Bracknell grey with yellow valley, returning to service on 6 January.

684-687 entered service on 19 January.

453/455/234/235 were withdrawn for disposal following service on 18 January.

738-40 are being prepared for service for sometime during week commencing 5 February.

Regards,

Robert
