Here is the latest fleet news from Reading Buses.
Reading Buses
446 arrived on 21 October and 444 on 26 October, both in red Winnersh Triangle park&ride livery, and are being prepared for service along with generic 447. Only 451 is outstanding now.
791 had White Knight branding on base N&D livery applied from 14 October, returning on 17 October.
793 had White Knight branding on base N&D livery applied from 17 October, returning on 23 October, completing the trio.
789 transferred from N&D on 21 October, and had route 12 branding on base N&D livery applied from 23 October, returning 31 October. It lost its MegaRear for Newbury College in the process.
790 went away for re-vinyling for route 12 on 31 October.
212 was withdrawn on 6 October, and is for sale with 211/213.
646/7 were de-branded on 31 October pending transfer to Thames Valley Buses on 1 November.
374 was withdrawn following service on 17 October and returned to Arrow vehicle hire.
373 followed suit shortly afterwards.
New ancillary vehicles are Ford Transit Customs 375-380 that arrived on 25 September, each having 6 seats and a storage area at the back. They are currently in plain white in temporary locations, pending lettering being applied and movement to their intended home in due course:
375 - WN75 EHY – Reading Buses (currently at Newbury & District)
376 - WN75 EJG – Reading Buses (currently at Thames Valley Buses)
377 - WN75 EKD – Newbury & District (currently at Reading Buses)
378 - WN75 EMV – Thames Valley Buses (currently at Reading Buses)
379 - WN75 ENF – Thames Valley Buses
380 - WV75 UKK – Thames Valley Buses
They all replace vehicles that were disposed of in 2023 and 2024 (Reading 360/363, Thames Valley 368/371, N&D 361/2) as previously reported.
Newbury & District
789 transferred to Reading on 21 October.
1406 & 1408 were withdrawn on 30 October pending collection.
Thames Valley Buses
794 returned from re-vinyling with Thames Valley lettering on base N&D livery on 14 October, and entered service on 24 October.
131 was withdrawn on 20 October, and is to be sold for scrap due to accident damage.
646/7 transferred in from Reading on 1 November in plain white.
126, 129, 130 remain on site for sale.
659-660, 662-663 remain on site being prepared for return, and 661 remains in use temporarily.
689 is still pending entry into service, so 1009 continues in short term use.
1209 also remains in use pending sale.
