May 2026 Update

Dear all,

 

Here is the latest fleet news from Reading Buses.

 

 

Reading Buses

25-29, 31 entered service on 1 June, and 30/32 on 2 June.

714-722 returned to service in sky blue livery on 27 May. (717 returned from repaint on 10 May not 1 May or 7 May previously noted).

 

Yellow 202 was withdrawn on 11 May, 204 on 7 May and 208 on 10 April (not returned following repairs) and sold to Roselyn Coaches, Par.

Yellow 206, 209, 210 were withdrawn on 31 May and await disposal.

Sky Blue 230 was withdrawn on 17 May, followed by 224, 225, 226, 228, 229, 231 on 26 May. All eight have been stored pending imminent sale.

213 has been sold to Chartwell Bus Sales, departing in April.

901 and 1211 remain in store pending departure for new owners.

 

410, 710-713, 752-754 are still away at repaint/refurbishment.

 

Wright Electroliner BF26 ZVE was demonstrated on site on 26-27 May prior to delivery to First Bus in Great Yarmouth.

 

 

Newbury & District

There is no news this month.

 

 

Thames Valley Buses

Ancillary vehicle 372 SF68 ABY was replaced by RF75 HJK a Lexus UX on 04/02/2026. It retains the same fleet number.

 

129, 130 remain in store for sale, and 191 stored for Dawson Rentals.

I heard that the Route 12 is going to be withdrawn in July is there any plans for 789 and 790?

The June and July service changes will result in a few things moving around in addition to the final cascades following the electric deployment. Details of this will be shared in due course.

 

The two school services that route 12 fits between will continue to operate, but ex-emerald buses will be allocated to this. This will allow 789 to transfer to N&D for additional school and private hire work, and 790 to transfer to Thames Valley for additional double deck work there.

Thank you for the update on 789 and 790 I'm glad that 789 is returning back to Newbury soon. Will 790 receive the same livery as 794 at Thames Valley and will 789 receive the same livery as before it moved to Reading?
