Here’s the latest from the Reading Buses group of companies.

 

 

Reading Buses

Vodafone operations resumed from 24 January with the end of the government’s work from home guidance, with the new allocation being two Wright Streetlites from the N&D fleet – on paper 166/167 but in practise any one is used.

 

It has been decided to allocate exVodafone E400MMCs 781/2 to Green Line 703, so they transferred to Thames Valley Buses from 17 January.

 

 

Thames Valley Buses

193 and 194 were still on site on 31 January, in plain white awaiting collection by Dawson Group.

 

781/2 transferred in from Reading Buses on 17 January for use on Green Line 703. 781 went directly to repaint, whilst 782 has seen occasional use on the 703 in plain red pending repaint on return of 781. These will replace 1212 and 1214 in February.

 

 

Newbury & District

Brand new Plaxton Leopard 1420 (YX71 LWF) arrived in Reading on the evening of 26th January before moving to N&D on 27th. The application of vinyls will take place during February. It is a 72-seater with centre wheelchair lift and has been supplied instead of the original plan for a lift to be fitted to 1418.

 

1418 was returned to Dawson Group on 27th January in exchange, reverting to plain white before departure via Reading.

 

Two Wright Streetlites are now used to cover the Reading Buses Vodafone contract from 24 January – on paper 166/167 but in practise any one is used.
