I was looking around at http://docs.busterjs.org/en/latest/roadmap/ to figure out when the next version will be released. From the doc it looks like the next version is 0.6 (beta 4), but from https://npmjs.org/package/buster it looks like that version is already released (0.6.12). Another point of confusion is that http://docs.busterjs.org/en/latest/ says it is the documentation for 0.7.0 so to me it looks like that's the development version, and yet the roadmap says 0.7.0 is not under development yet.

I assume that this is just because the docs are lagging behind. So I was wondering:

* Is there an up to date roadmap somewhere else?
* What is the latest released version?
* What is the latest development version?
* How do I try the latest development version in my project?
* Do you have a ballpark date for the next release (I know - when it's ready, but any indication to how far away that is)?

Nope :(

0.6.x

Not in npm, it's git master, planned to become 0.7

* How do I try the latest development version in my project?

buster-dev-tools - but master is not working 100% at the moment

A few weeks until 0.7, I'd say. Both Chris and myself recently started working on the 0.7 release. The plan is to release 0.7 as soon as master works again, and then start working on a 0.8 release where we do bug and stability fixes.

So it's been a few weeks.

I've been looking at the github activity and to me it looks sort of dead (maybe work is being done in forks?).

Either way, I though I'd ping the list and see if the project is still active.

Hello,

Good to hear :)

I've looked through the issue tracker but is there some area in particular where you could use a hand?

Sorry for the late reply. I really appreciate you taking interest in helping out :)

I'm currently working on figuring out a way to implement ramp so that it's stable. One of the main quirks with 0.6 is the gung-ho implementation of ramp which causes a lot of erratic behaviour. I'm happy with the direction it's currently taking, so I'd say all I need is 4-5 evenings of hacking. When that's done, it's pretty much just some glue left and we can probably release 0.7.

So I think what I'm saying is that what's required for 0.7 is buried deep inside the heads of Chris and myself, and it probably takes more time explaining it than implementing it. So the problem is just that we need to somehow find time (and inspiration..) to get it done.

When 0.7 eventually is out, though, we'll hope that Buster will become a more traditional project, with releases a bit more frequent than anually, and where we actually fix bugs that people report since the code that is currently out (0.6) is completely rewritten anyway.
