New York is a wonderful place with a lot of wonderful performances.
You could walk down one street and see several different performances
all in one day. This is where you talk about it!

See a guy play an accordion rendition of "Stand By Me"? Tell us! See
a woman play a carpenter saw with a violin bow? Tell us! See a huge
drum circle in Washington Square? Tell us!

Images are not required, but are definitely welcome. Also be sure to
tell us where you saw each particular performance (just for our
benefit).

The other day, while taking the train back to Brooklyn, I saw a few
guys board the 1 Train with a series of conga drums. They said that
they were preparing for next season of "America's Got Talent", and
that they were trying to spread the word out of their talent. They
had a really lively act, and they really utilized the entirety of the
drum head. You gotta appreciate those street musicians that perform
on the subway. It's such a narrow space, making playing any
instrument, much less a percussion instrument, rather hard. Still,
they made the best of it.

They also want to upset J-Lo, so you can't really say you hate them!

Today I saw a man on the 86th St subway platform playing the saxophone.  He was without any other sound, from speakers or other musicians.  He alone was playing on a busy subway platform while trains rolled above us.  He did an amazing one-man rendition of Dave Brubeck's "Take Five", one of my all-time favorite jazz singles!
