Male Advocacy for Gender Equality (MAFGE) is a gender advocacy organization in Tanzania working to advocate for human rights, end violence, and enhance dignity, equality and justice for women by involving men as agents of change. MAFGE believes that men can bring changes because they continue to occupy position of power and privilege in the social and cultural structures of patriarch systems. MAFGE realizes that without their active involvement a gender sensitive society will neither be achieved nor sustained.

Our Campaign

Please join and support our campaign “EQUALITY FOR ALL” to advocate and sensitize through seminars and educational gatherings the importance of empowering women and the likelihood of a society sensitive to both genders in appreciating human rights for all people and involving women in social and economic activities (gender equity). This campaign will be conducted in the rural community of Arusha reaching marginalized groups that face intense abstracts of a patriarchal community. Most parts in the rural Arusha, the existing customs and tradition in most communities still perpetuate traditional practices which affect women and girls. Due to these patriarchal systems women are unable to make decisions regarding their health, education, economic resources and income from family level upward.“EQUALITY FOR ALL” will campaign for men to empower women as an equally important group in the community, by sensitizing many men concerning gender issues, raising awareness through seminars and training. With the use of social media, theater and film we also seek to raise awareness through sharing of testimonies, mentoring and teachings to exemplify further the idea in sensitizing men on gender equality and equity.

What we need

We aim at starting implementation immediately when our funding target sets foot at $ 8500. All the funding will support campaigns on gender issues affecting women by sensitizing men as the advocates for change. Without these funds we will not be able to accomplish our goal. The support you give us is going to help us reach our goal.
