Duration: September 8, 2025 – June 30, 2026 (possible 1-year renewal)

Position Overview
The Florida Department of Corrections’ Office of Information Technology seeks an experienced Senior Project Manager to oversee and drive large-scale, complex projects involving organizational change, stakeholder coordination, risk management, and compliance. This role requires strong leadership, communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple teams to ensure timely and successful delivery.
Key Responsibilities
1. Organizational Change Management
- Lead change initiatives, ensuring alignment with project goals and stakeholder expectations.
- Develop and execute change management strategies and communication plans.
- Conduct readiness assessments and manage resistance through engagement and training.
2. Project Planning & Execution
- Develop and manage resource-loaded project plans using tools like Microsoft Project, Primavera, or Jira.
- Maintain project and performance metrics as per Department standards.
- Lead cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time and within budget.
- Serve as liaison between technical teams, users, and executive stakeholders.
3. Stakeholder & Team Management
- Coordinate diverse project teams to meet overall objectives.
- Facilitate Joint Application Development (JAD) sessions to gather requirements.
- Build collaborative relationships to ensure effective communication and alignment.
4. Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain project artifacts per PMO standards.
- Ensure compliance with Rule 60GG-1, Florida Administrative Code (F.A.C.).
- Document As-Is and To-Be processes for process improvement initiatives.
5. Risk & Issue Management
- Identify and manage project risks/issues; develop mitigation and contingency plans.
- Track and resolve issues to keep the project on schedule.
6. Resource & Budget Oversight
- Manage project budgets and spending plans.
- Track expenses to ensure budget alignment.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or 4 years equivalent work experience).
- Certification: PMP (required).
- Experience:
- 5+ years managing large-scale projects with multiple teams.
- 5+ years in change management strategies and implementation.
- 5+ years using project management tools (Microsoft Project, Primavera, Jira).
- Strong experience in PMO methodologies, risk/issue management, and stakeholder communication.
Preferred Qualifications
- Change Management Certification (e.g., Prosci).
- Agile or Scrum-based PM certification.
- ITIL Service Management Foundations certification.
- Experience with ServiceNow and DocuSign.
- State government project management experience and knowledge of Rule 60GG-1, F.A.C..
- Vendor project management and technical team coordination experience.
- Knowledge of IT standards in a criminal justice environment.
