All,

This Idea will make more sense to those in US.

Should there be any eBay for car rentals? People whose cars are not fully utilized can rent their cars. If the site really becomes as big as eBay, there is a widely high probability that you will find a car for rental within walking distance of your home. Just like eBay people will have feedback ratings.

I would myself love to rent from such a site, because my rental needs are very small. Going to the car-rental and renting for the entire day does not come out to be convenient. I occasionally need a car only for a few hours.

Great idea!

There are a few options like that around already. Try Zipcar.com

I did look at Zipcar.com they are in very few areas and mostly in the
cities. I wouldn't be surprised if they would take another 7-8 years to make
something available in my area. Due to their big company model, and they
cannot afford to have their car not utilised for more than 15 hours in a
day.

There are two people interested in the idea. I'll wait for one or two more
days and then set up a conf call for those interested to discuss a little
more.
