Just a heads up - we are starting to work on the promotional materials
for post-registration, i.e. the materials for attracting festival
attendees. Current plan is a two-sided postcard and a
similarly-branded poster which promote both BOS and the benefit on May
21st. The design will be close to the current BOS branding, but with
information about both BOS overall and the benefit - benefit content
will be about 1/3 of the space allocated to detailed information on
both the postcard and the poster.

Tara and Ali - if you could get me the copy you want for the benefit,
that would be great. Unfortunately there won't be room to list the
artists, not that we'll have them nailed down in time anyway. The
goal is to get this to press before we turn to the program, so by the
end of next week. I would like to have them in hand for distribution
at the May 3rd meeting.

Also, Cabaret people - if you could give me a tweet-sized blurb about
the cabaret, plus your hours, that would be rad.

Let me know if you have any thoughts on this, thanks!

L

I can write something up over the weekend. Right now I'm getting up every
day at 4:30 am for work and am not fully functional.

That should be OK... these probably need to go to press next
Tuesday/Wednesday AM for us to have them in hand for the meeting on
5/3

Yes, that would be great. Literally like a 1-2 sentence blurb for each thing.

Thanks!

Did you get a blurb for the benefit yet? I can give you one but I don't have any info about the 'party' aspect of it.

Hi, I saw this late but wanted to give feedback for future
reference. . . Regarding this event:

BOS Community Discussion Event:
Bushwick in 2010: Where are we now, where have we been, and where are
we going?
Saturday, June 5th, 1pm-3pm
LUMENHOUSE
47 Beaver Street @ Park (L to Morgan, J/M to Flushing)
A panel and open discussion among the creative community, affordable
housing advocates, local business, industry and other neighborhood
stakeholders.

This is such an interesting event! It is a shame to have it right in
the middle of the BOS daytime as I'm sure plenty of BOS attendees,
curators, artists, etc. that are having events, open studios and
exhibits that they need to be on hand for would love to attend. And
during that time period, it also pulls a specific type of stakeholder,
"activist", proactive audience away from the other events. Seems this
sort of thing would be ideal for an early evening event (7-9?) after
the studio events are closed so all can attend! Than par-tee
after . . .

Daryl-Ann,

I completely agree with you! I was also bummed that a community
discussion like this one was held during BETA spaces studio hours,
thus I couldn't attend... I think everything went to press already
though :[. Something to definitely keep in mind for the next festival!

Sorry, guys! I know it's a bummer... it's just too crazy to do stuff
late in the evenings, and we don't want to pull audience from festival
events like the Cabaret. Plus a lot of the panelists can't/won't do
evenings.

Of course I would love to have anyone there who can make it,
especially folks who are invested in the topic, so maybe we can
reconsider the organization of this event next time around.

I will audio record everything though, and hope to post this one (plus
a bunch of the past ones) on our website after the festival.
