Hi folks

Post production is now underway for the 52 programmes filmed at
Ellerslie earlier this year. Sarah is creating a rough edit of each
programme using the best shots. There will be an opportunity for those
interested to watch and discuss each programme at the Bush Telly
office, if necessary adding more material before the programmes get a
final edit.

The programmes look and sound fantastic.

Internships
Sarah Dickson has started a film internship for three days a week with
Bush Telly. Sarah is currently helping with editing, and will later on
help with camera work and other field crew jobs. Matthais Seebaur is a
fulltime intern from Bavaria in Germany and is helping with sorting
out equipment.

A recent meeting held at Canterbury Museum has mapped out a plan for
the next three years of filming. Key partner organisations have agreed
on a target of 30 HD programmes to be made during this time. Each will
have a short 5 minute version tied to the school curriculum and a
longer 25 minute version for TV broadcast. These public service
programmes will be freely distributed with the aid of sponsorship.
Many months of planning and research will be needed before filming can
begin.

Filming will take place on location and in science labs. A lot of
surplus equipment that was used at Ellerslie is being sold and
replaced with gear that can be taken into the bush. Canterbury
University is donating surplus equipment to enable filming of the
world of insects and small plants, and the creation of special
effects.

A phone debrief is underway to learn from the Ellerslie filming. All
150 people involved including sponsors are being individually phoned
to hear what people have to say.

Future editions of Bush Telly News will announce each programme as it
is released to the public.
